TOP British wrestler Myroslav Dykun will miss the Olympics after failing a drugs test.

Ukrainian born Dykun, who won Commonwealth Games gold in Delhi, tested positive for amphetamines, according to British Wrestling chief executive Colin Nicholson.

Dykun moved to Great Britain in 2003 as part of British Wrestling's initiative to get foreign athletes to help home-grown wrestlers develop into medal prospects, although the Olympic squad is now dominated by eastern European imports qualified through residency.

"He is immediately suspended from competition and funding," said Nicholson.

"Under no circumstances do we condone drug-taking in any form - whether it be recreational or performance-enhancing.

"British Wrestling will not tolerate such behaviour from anyone. This is evidence that we are determined to work in partnership to root out anyone mis-using substances."
