GREAT Britain's Freyja Prentice finished just outside the top ten in her modern pentathlon World Cup final debut in Moscow.

Prentice - who placed 12th - was the top placed British finisher in a youthful team all under 21 - Samantha Murray placed 24th and Katy Burke 27th.

Gold went to Germany's Olympic champion Lena Schoneborn, who added the World Cup final title to her three World Cup victories in what has been a dominant season.

"It was a very interesting day from our perspective," said Jan Bartu, Pentathlon GB performance director.

"We had a junior team of athletes here and it was a massive experience for them, competing against the top senior athletes under pressure."

Bartu was impressed by Prentice's run/shoot, which saw her climb from 19th to 12th, while Murray performed well throughout the day up to a disappointing run/shoot.
