My first....with Ed Clancy
ED Clancy - who won team pursuit cycling gold at last year's Beijing Olympics - talks paper rounds, BMXing, Jason Queally and a love called Louise.

SLOW STARTER: Ed Clancy admitted he didn't impress on his debut race for Holme Valley Wheelers - but he went on to win Olympic gold (Getty Images)
My first bike: The first thing I ever had was this plastic tractor but the first bike I had was this black and white BMX and I was a pimp on that thing.
My first medal: It was probably a club time-trial when I was 15 or 16. My first big win was probably the worlds in 2007 - that was the first real bit of success. I was with the Holme Valley Wheelers when I was a kid and that's where it all started, near Huddersfield.
My first race: It was probably one of those club 10km time-trials with the Holme Valley Wheelers on the Sovereign course. I don't think I done particularly well and done something like a 33:20 so there's hope for everyone out there.
My first race in GB colours: It was probably the Nations Cup with the juniors. I'm not sure if they do it anymore but the team was me and Geraint Thomas. Tom White was there as well and we're still really good mates.

MEMORIES: Jason Queally's success in the 1km time trial at the Sydney Olympics was watched by a 15-year old Ed Clancy back home in Huddersfield (Getty Images)
My first Olympic memory: I can remember Chris Boardman. I remember there was a fuss about some cyclists but I was a bit young and didn't know what it was about.
The first person who really got my into cycling was Jason Queally winning the kilo. It's funny because he just knocks around and trains with us at the track now.
It kind of surreal as he's this dude who was on the front cover of newspaper and now he drops in for a bit of team pursuit training with us.
My first big injury: I think it was the Belgian one. It was two or three weeks before I could eat and I had a real from mess on my face but I haven't had any broken bones - I'm too skilful to crash!
My first job: I did a paper round and I used to love it. I used to fly down the hill but then I used to really hate pushing my bike back up the hill and dropping off newspapers. I wasn't a climber then and some things never change!
My first girlfriend: Probably a girl called Louise. She was an American girl and I met her in Fallowfields in Manchester when I was in the academy. I probably just bumped into her on a night out and it lasted a couple of years.

Clancy - one of the most under-rated GB athlete in my eyes.
