NORWAY'S Ola Vigen Hattestad delighted the home crowd as he won a men's classic sprint in Trondheim - his sixth World Cup win of the season.

Slovenia's Petra Majdic won the women's sprint ahead of Slovakia's Alena Prochazkova and Poland's Justina Kowalczyk of Poland.

Hattestad edged countryman Petter Northug, who closed in on Switzerland's Dario Cologna at the top of the overall standings. Cologna's lead is now just 54 points.

Norway grabbed all podium spots as John Kristian Dahl finished third.
