VIDEO: Day eight of the 2010 Winter Olympics in review
DAY eight of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver saw Great Britain open their medals account in style as Amy Williams romped to skeleton gold in Whistler.
Leading over night, Williams shattered her own track record in her third run before holding her nerve and coasting home to claim Great Britain's first individual Winter Olympic gold for 30 years.
There was not such good news for Kristan Bromley or partner Shelley Rudman but nothing could take the shine of Williams' Whistler win.
Meanwhile Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal edged out American Bode Miller to take super-G and Sinead and John Kerr made a solid start to the ice dancing competition - currently led by world champions Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin.
Here's a review of all the day's events from Sportsbeat's team in Vancouver.
