MANDIP Sehmi may have league championship titles and a European Cup winner's medal in his trophy cabinet - but he admits becoming a household name will be his biggest challenge yet.

The 29-year-old is Great Britain's talisman in the wheelchair rugby squad and is spearheading their charge for Paralympic gold at London 2012.

Sehmi has enjoyed an all-conquering year with the London Wheelchair rugby club - collecting a clean sweep of domestic honours and the European Cup.

But with the 2012 Paralympics ducking under the two-year mark last weekend Sehmi admits he would swap it all to grab a spot in the limelight in London.

"London 2012 is obviously going to be massive and you never stop thinking about it," said Sehmi - a veteran of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic campaign when Great Britain narrowly missed out on bronze.

"I'd definitely call Beijing the highlight of my career so far - just the whole experience of going out there was amazing.

"I remember the opening ceremony and the noise with everyone screaming. In your head you think that it's all for you - it really is the highlight of your career.

"And then thinking towards London - it's only going to get even better because all the crowds are going to be on your side.

"The team is shaping up well but we all have to keep moving. We can't stop for a moment because we have to keep focusing on London 2012."
