RIO 2016: Designer defends logo against plagiarism claim
RIO 2016's new Olympic logo was widely praised but at least no-one claimed the much maligned and criticised London 2012 emblem was plagiarised.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?: Are these two logos too similar, Rio 2016 designers claim not
Rio launched its new logo at a New Year's Eve at a beach party attended by over one million partygoers and International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge.
But its creators have been forced to deny similarities with the logo of the Colorado-based Telluride Foundation.
Fred Gelli, a director of the Tatil agency which won the competition to design the logo along with nearly 140 other competitors, claims extensive research was carried out to ensure there was no similar logo in existence.
But he admitted the key premise, figures embraced at the arms in a flowing motion, was not unique, with others pointing out the logo's similarity with Henri Matisse's The Dance.

not a plagiarism
Fully agree with previous comments. Of course, the idea is a little bit similar, but in such case I can say that logos of the Olympic games and Audi are plagiarized.

It is far too useful than predicted.
Rio 2016 Logo
C'mon, this isn't plagiarism, copy/paste or whatever you like to call it. Indeed there are some similarities but not enough to think they copied the whole thing. In my humble, opinion, people are jealous of the company that came up with this design. You want to see plagiarism?
