BRITISH Rowing performance director David Tanner has warned his crews not to expect such an easy ride at the second World Cup of the season in Munich on June 19.

MUNICH-BOUND: Peter Reed and Andy Trigg-Hodge will continue their impressive fledgling partnership in Munich

Great Britain picked up 11 medals - nine of which were gold - at the season opening World Cup in Banyoles, Spain.

The new-look pair of Peter Reed and Andy Triggs-Hodge, Matt Wells and Stephen Rowbotham in the double scull and Katherine Grainger in the single scull all excelled.

But Tanner expects a far sterner test in Munich however - there was one Beijing finalist pairing (Comment below) in Banyoles pair race for example - and has made slight adjustments to his squad.

"We had some marvellous results in Banyoles and won the overall World Cup points tally there but we don't expect such a straightforward ride in Munich", said Tanner.

Reed and Triggs-Hodge will again feature in the pair, while the four of Alex Partridge, Richard Egington, Alex Gregory and Matt Langridge - who also won in Banyoles - remain unchanged.

And the men's sculling squad remains unchanged with Alan Campbell continuing in the single, and Wells and Rowbotham in the double.

"I've got to make sure that I put in a top performance at every event this season, including the World Championships", said Campbell.

Dan Ritchie and Tom Broadway come into the men's eight.  Both were in contention for Banyoles seats but were recovering from injury. James Foad and Tom Wilkinson move into a second men's  four.

Grainger continues her lone furrow in the women's single scull while Anna Bebington and Annabel Vernon will focus solely on the women's double scull rather than also doubling up into the women's quadruple scull.

That has opened up an opportunity for two new talents -  Sarah Cowburn, a former world junior single scull finalist, and Rosamund Bradbury, a world U23 finalist in 2008 - to join up with Katie Greves and Beth Rodford in Munich in the quadruple scull.

But Louisa Reeve and Olivia Whitlam will once more race in two boat categories - the women's pair and eight.

There were Olympic finalists in the 2- final in Spain. Ramon Di Clemente and Shaun Keeling of South Africa, silver medalists in Spain, were fifth in Beijing.

May we have a rowing picture on?

It would be more than appropriate to have a rowing picture on the rowing pages.

Can we have a rowing pic on

Can we have a rowing pic on the rowing pages? I can see that the athletics pic is part of a sponsorship deal but it looks rather odd! Wouldn't it be better to move the ad into the framework of the site and have editorially relevant stuff in the body of the text as Aviva don't sponsor rowing.
