The duo - one half of the Olympic gold medallist GB quartet - have since teamed up in the pair and made a winning start at the season's opening World Cup in Banyoles last month.

They will compete in the Silver Goblets at Henley against South African rivals Ramon di Clemente and Shaun Keeling.

Alan Campbell, Great Britain's premier single sculler, will face New Zealand's world champion Mahe Drysdale as well as double Olympic champion Olaf Tufte of Norway.

Kiwi Drysdale got the better of Campbell in the Diamond Scull in 2006, but it was the Brit who prevailed a year later at the annual event, which this year celebrates its 160th birthday.

Meanwhile, Olympic bronze medallists Stephen Rowbotham and Matt Wells will compete in the double and a new-look eight, including 2007 lightweight four world champion James Clarke, will take part in The Grand.

The men's four of Alex Partridge, Ric Egington, Matt Langridge and Alex Gregory will race in The Stewards' Challenge Cup, having also made a winning start to the season in Banyoles.

The GB women's eight will take part at Henley but in a combination that does not include Olivia Whitlam and Louisa Reeve who have already doubled up in the pair and eight at World Cup level this season.

Last year, all of Great Britain's Beijing Olympians missed out at Henley as they were put through their paces in the French Alps before heading to China.

This year the team is sure to face stiff competition from New Zealand, who have confirmed their entire team will be in action at Henley, which begins on July 1.
