Freeman-Pask qualifies for World Rowing Championship semi-finals
GREAT Britain's Adam Freeman-Pask has progressed through to the semi-finals of the World Rowing Championships in Poznan after coming second in his repechage.
Lightweight single sculler Freeman-Pask finished 13th at last year's World Championships but has enjoyed an improved season to date - picking up bronze medals at World Cup regattas in Banyoles and Munich.
But he was forced to go through the repechage after finishing second in Sunday's heat behind the Netherlands' Jaap Schouten.
The 22-year-old led the early stages of his repechage but was overhauled by Iran's Shadi Naghadeh Mohsen in the second 1000m and crossed the line in 7:36.23 minutes.
But it was enough to qualify and Freeman-Pask will take his place in Friday's semi-finals.
Meanwhile, the Paralympic double scull of James Roberts and Sam Scowen also progressed after finishing second in their repechage behind Italy's Daniele Stefanoni and Stefania Toscano, ensuring all three British boats in the Paralympic classes are now through to Saturday's finals.
The men's quad, lightweight four and lightweight pair will contest Wednesday's repechages along with the women's eight and quad.
