SIMON Ammann continued his incredible season by adding his first career ski jumping crystal globe to his two Olympic titles at the penultimate World Cup of the season in Lillehammer.

The Swiss jumper has been in imperious form in the second half of the season and swept to victory in Norway, scoring 274.5 to beat Austria's Gregor Schlierenzauer and Poland's Adam Malysz in second and third respectively.

Victory was Ammann's sixth victory from the last six events he's completed in and few would be against the 28-year old rounding off the World Cup season with another win in Oslo on Sunday.

Schlierenzauer was Ammann's primary rival for the first half of the season, but after struggling in recent weeks, the 20-year old returned to his best to capture silver in Norway.

The Austrian couldn't match Ammann's efforts in either jump but a consistent performance saw Schlierenzauer finish with 271.4.

Malysz, who struck silver behind Ammann in both the normal and large hill events in Vancouver last month, led the field after the first jump but a second score of 128.8 saw the Polish jumper slip to third on 265.9.
