The 22-year old Czech skater, who struck gold over both distances at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver last month, won the 3000m race in the Netherlands in 4:06.25 minutes, ahead of Germany's Daniela Anschutz-Thoms and Stephanie Beckert.

Sablikova has jostled with Beckert all season for dominance over the longest speed skating distances but the German was powerless to prevent the Czech collecting her fourth World Cup win of the season.

But Beckert, who struck silver behind Sablikova in both the 3000m and 5000m in Vancouver, will have one last chance for revenge at the European Allround Championships on the same track next week.

Shani Davis also lifted the World Cup title in Heerenveen, winning the final 1500m event of the season to clinch overall gold.

The American, who scooped 1000m gold and 1500m silver in Vancouver last month, romped to gold in the Netherlands, beating second-placed Denny Morrison by 0.92 and with home favourite Kjeld Nuis another 0.49 back in third.

Meanwhile, Jan Smeekens and Jenny Wolf won the first of two 500m races in Heerenveen.

Wolf, who captured the 500m title in Erfurt last weekend, beat home skaters Margot Boer and Annette Gerritsen to win in 38.18.

And Dutchman Smeekens continued his impressive form post-Vancouver by scooping his third win from three races since the Winter Olympics.

The 23-year old finished in 34.99 with USA's Tucker Fredricks 0.02 back in second and another home skater Ronald Mulder another 0.23 back in third.
