British Gas Swimming Championships 2010 JONATHAN Fox took the plaudits as an incredible night of swimming saw two world records smashed in a single race at the British Gas Swimming Championships in Sheffield.

The 18-year-old S7 swimmer - who already held the European title - touched home in the 100m backstroke in 1:11.99 minutes, beating American Lantz Lamback's previous record by 0.1 seconds.

Fox took the gold but his record-breaking joy was shared by James Crisp (S9) as the City of Sheffield swimmer made full use of home advantage to register a time of 1:03.32 mins and take silver - as well as the world record for his classification.

They were joined on the podium by Gallica's S8 swimmer Thomas Young who stopped the clock on 1:08.58 mins.

In the men's 200m medley Sascha Kindred (S6) helped himself to another gold, finishing in 2:46.51 mins to earn 924 points.

City of Manchester's David Ellis (S13) comfortably forced Jack Bridge (S10) into third, registering a time of 2:23.81 mins.

In the women's equivalent event 17-year-old Eleni Papadopoulos (S10) took gold with a time of 2:43.20 minutes.

Elizabeth Johnson was second, the Swansea Performance swimmer touched the wall after 3:27.76, to earn 802 points - enough to edge Emma Cattle into third with 788.
