LIZZIE Simmomds struck double gold to conclude a successful 24 hours at the Mare Nostrum swim meet in Canet.

She also picked up silver in the 50m backstroke, as British swimmers achieved ten podium finishes at the two-day event in France.

Amy Smith also struck gold in the 100m freestyle while Liam Tancock edged out team-mate Chris Walker-Hebborn to win bronze in the 50m backstroke final.
