The world number four made a victorious return to action in Valencia last week in his first competition since suffering a wrist injury while on international duty for Great Britain in the Davis Cup two months ago.

That was the Scot's sixth trophy of the season to date and as the 22-year-old prepares to begin his Paris Masters campaign against the USA's James Blake on Wednesday, he is hoping to make it a magnificent seven before arriving in London.

"I want to try and play as many matches as possible," said Murray. "I need to make sure I'm as match tight as I can be when I get to London.

"The season as a whole has been very consistent for me. I was unlucky with the injury but I played very well in Valencia so it's pleasing to come back strongly.

"James Blake is not going to be an easy opponent. It's a very tough one. He's a former world number four. He's a very big hitter and takes a lot of risks so I'll have to be on my game."

Having captured six tournament victories in 2009, Murray currently tops the pile in terms of most competition wins this year.

The Scot has two more tournaments left this season - both of which are indoors.  Having captured eight of his 14 career wins on indoor courts, Murray is preparing to begin his Paris campaign with confidence.

"It's a difficult thing to top the tournament wins table so to do that is pleasing," added Murray. "I've played 16 and won six and I've got two left, so hopefully I can improve in that.

"I grew up playing indoors so I feel comfortable in that environment.  Sometimes on the other courts it takes a little while to adjust.

"It's difficult to win back-to-back tournaments but I'll be giving it my best shot."
