The six-year deal will help the sport - which won six medals at the Beijing Olympics - fund their campaign for the 2012 London Olympics and 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

A 50% cut meant water polo was allocated only £1.5m, leaving the men's team's presence at the 2012 Olympics in doubt.

British Swimming recently said it was committed to seeking additional funds to bridge the shortfall.

Meanwhile, British Swimming has also concluded a deal with Speedo - the manufacturers of the controversial LZR Racer suit.

"We are very pleased to be continuing our relationship with Speedo," said British Swimming chief executive David Sparkes.

"It is crucial to the future of swimming that British Swimming associates itself with a brand which is so devoted to the sport and to its athletes."
