The Championships has generated £29.2 million, nearly four million more than 12 months ago.

"The 2009 Championships once again showed that this country has the best tennis event in the world," said Roger Draper, Lawn Tennis Association chief executive.

"Record attendance and world class tennis captivated tennis fans around the world.

"We would like to thank the All England Club for all their hard work and look forward to working with them over the coming year."

It's another cash boost for Draper's organisation, who signed a £25 million five-year sponsorship deal with financial services company AEGON one year ago.
