Indian businessman joins Commonwealth Games England Advisory Board

COMMONWEALTH Games England have confirmed businessman Bhanu Choudhrie is to chair their Business Advisory Board.

Ahead of October's 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, Choudhrie will be working to rally support and secure funds to support England's participation in Delhi. 

Born in Delhi, Choudhrie has been the executive director of C&C Alpha Group Ltd since 2001 where the group has a vast portfolio of investments, ranging from award-winning spa hotels in India and Mauritius to a portfolio of hospitals and care homes in the UK. 

He said: "I am really excited to come in as Chair of the Business Advisory Board and am fully focused on the success of Commonwealth Games England. 

"The team has more than 400 of England's top athletes heading to Delhi and we want to make sure they have everything in place to help make the Games a huge success."

Joanna Robinson, Development Director for Commonwealth Games England added: "It's great to have Bhanu on board. 

"He is a hugely successful businessman whose experience and contacts, both in this country and in India will be invaluable to the success of the team.

"We are very focused on impeccable preparations in order to deliver one of England's finest performances at the Games in Delhi this year."
