GLASGOW'S 2014's triathlon venue will stage the first event of the British triathlon season - which also doubles as the trials for this summer's European under-23 Championship.

Strathclyde Country Park will host the competition on May 17th - over the elite standard distance of 1500m swim, 40km bike and 10km run.

And Scotland's David McNamee - who won the British sprint title last year - is among those targeting a place in the British team for Tarzo Revine.

"I'm racing to win my place in the GB team for the European Under 23 Championships in Italy in June," he said.

"I was brought up in Ayrshire and went to school in Glasgow so I hope there will be plenty of home support to help me achieve that.

"I'm looking forward to racing on home soil in Strathclyde Park, it's a great venue for athletes and spectators."

nice

This is a good call. Discrimination between men and women should be demolished, not only in sports but to other aspects as well. Women may not be physically competent against men but we all do deserve a chance to play and compete, and most importantly a chance to bring honor to our country.

Finally its great to read
