Are you ready for the London 2012 Olympic song?
Beijing being Beijing these Games didn't just have one Olympic song - it had a whole album.
Maybe their determination to set the pace in the Olympic song race was underlined by their decision to hire experienced hand Sarah Brightman, 16 years after she first appeared in Barcelona.
Along with Chinese pop singer Liu Han she performed ‘You and Me' - a surprisingly haunting and strangely rather beautiful number.
True it was cliched and saccharine sweet but even now it reminds me of Usain Bolt's scampering and Michael Phelps splashing into history.
Maybe it was the lack of sleep, endless words or, more probably, the Tsingtao beer but my colleague Matthew Davis and I once, in a rather drunken moment, declared it our favourite song ever.
We even bought the album. But on returning home I was disappointed. It's a bit like when you taste a great wine on holiday, buy a bottle, stuff it in your suitcase and then uncork it to drink while slouching on the sofa watching TV.
Somehow it doesn't taste quite the same as it did under the stars, overlooking the beach.
You and Me certainly didn't sound quite as good on my iPod as it did in the Bird's Nest - but it's still better than the rest.
Verdict - 12 points
