GREAT Britain’s John Garcia-Thompson and Steve Grotowski can hold their heads high after defeat to the highly fancied Brazilian pair in their second London 2012 beach volleyball match.

SECOND LOSS: John Garcia-Thompson and Steve Grotowski lose to Brazil in straight sets
The duo, who lost to Canada in their Olympic opener at the weekend, caused the world champions problems in the first set, but eventually succumbed in straight sets 21-17 21-12.
And the partnership, who have been competing together since 2009, thanked their support at Horse Guards Parade despite losing out to, who they call, the best team in the world.
"We never had so much support,” said Grotowski who fulfils his Olympic dream after missing out in Beijing qualifying.
“They are pushing you, it felt like the stands might come down.
"The support was huge and we lost. I can't imagine what happens if we win."
Spain-born Garcia-Thompson added: "We lost to the best team in the world. Ricardo (Santos) could be the best player of the tournament."
