Laura Robson fails to qualify for US Open main draw
BRITISH tennis prodigy Laura Robson's dreams of a US Open berth are over after a three set defeat to Eva Hrdinova in the final round of qualifying in New York.

HER TIME WILL COME: 15-year old Laura Robson misses out on the US Open this year but she will be back
The 15-year old lost the first set before rain stopped play on Friday and despite levelling the scores on Saturday, nerves got the better of Robson and she slipped to an agonising 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 defeat.
The 2008 Junior Wimbledon champion looked like she was heading straight out when she slipped to a 3-0 deficit in the second set but Robson started to find the form which took her past Stephanie Foretz and Aniko Kapros in the earlier rounds.
The teenager reeled off ten of the next 11 games to take command of the match at 4-1 in the deciding set but nerves took over and Hrdinova found her way back into the match before claiming the final set tie-break.
Elena Baltacha was the only other Brit to reach the final round of qualifying at Flushing Meadows but the Scot also fell at the last hurdle, losing 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 to Australia's Anastasia Rodionova.
The British number two was seeded second for the qualifying tournament and had been in dominant form in New York, losing just seven games in her first two matches.
But Baltacha failed to bring her ‘A' game into her final match and her defeat means Andy Murray will be Great Britain's sole representative in the senior singles draws.
