Randall happy to focus on London 2012 team competitions

JENNA Randall's individual Olympic hopes might have gone out the window, but the synchronised swimmer insists the safety in numbers approach has never looked better.
SAFETY IN NUMBERS: Jenna Randall is looking forward to the team competitions at the London 2012 Olympics
The 23-year-old is still riding high following her double celebration in Shanghai at July's World Championships.
Alongside Olivia Allison in the duet, Randall moved up to eighth in the world while the Great Britain team as a whole beat USA for the first time to finish the Team Free final in ninth.
But the Rushmoor Synchro Club ace also demonstrated she can go it alone, finishing eighth in both the Solo Free and Technical events, having also won Commonwealth Games Solo silver in Delhi back in October.
However, with the solo event not on the programme at London 2012, Randall will have to stick with familiar faces, waving goodbye to the discipline next May at the European Championships in Antwerp before putting her Olympics hat firmly on.
But rather than get down in the dumps Randall is quite the opposite, insisting her Chinese adventure has shown that a major podium finish alongside her friends has never been closer.
"The worlds definitely exceeded our expectations with a top eight in the duets and a top nine in the team so all our goals were met and more," she said.
"Those results have given us a lot of confidence that we can compete with the world's best so it's up to us to maintain those high levels.
"Unfortunately for me the solo routine is not going to be in the Olympics but I will still compete and train for the Europeans.
"I love being busy and taking part in as many competitions as I can so to do the Solo, Duet and Team is a lot of fun but eventually that will have to change with London 2012 in mind.
"After the Europeans I will put the solo to one side and just focus on our two Olympic events as we are still improving and we are yet to plateau so every event we go to we are excited about seeing how far we can go."
Randall won't be seen in the pool again until April when she takes to the London 2012 Aquatic Centre waters for the Olympic test event.
But despite it being seven months away she insists she won't be taking it easy, planning her attack for the Greatest Show on Earth at every waking hour.
"There are the Olympic trials and the Europeans so we will continue to work hard with the intention of improving our performances and results still further," she added.
"That takes up a lot of time and is extremely important, we really want to put something together that will wow everyone when it all comes together.
"The earlier we can get on with learning the routine the better it will be for us and could make all the difference next year."
