AS IT HAPPENED: European Swimming Short Course Championships, Day three
NO British medals but how close was Michael Rock? And James Goddard could end the championships on a high tomorrow.
Welcome to Rijeka - the home of the world's first-ever torpedo factory and host of the 2008 European Short Course Championships.
17.32: Netherlands underline their strength at team events - winning the women's 4x50m freestyle relay in a 1.45.73 world record.
17.21: Finals coming fast and furious. Slovakia's Matjaz Markic touches home in 26.47 sec - a new championship record.
17.18: Another world record - and this one raises the roof. Croatia's Sanja Jovanovic touches home in 26.23 sec to claim the 50m backstroke title. Britain's Lizzie Simmonds was fifth in 26.88 sec.
17.04: Gold and another world record for France's Amaury Leveaux - 44.94 sec his time.
16.57: Jemma Lowe secures a place in the women's 100m butterfly final - advancing as the sixth quickest qualifier.
16.53: So close! Michael Rock misses out on bronze in the 200m butterfly by just one tenth of a second, his time 1.52.33. Russia's Nikolay Skvortskov is streets clear with a new 1.50.60 world record securing gold.
17.46: Gold for Finland's Hanna-Maria Seppaelae in the women's 100m medley final - her 59.25 sec time is a new championship record.

17.09: Impressive stuff from Britain's James Goddard - already a gold medallist this week. His time of 52.68 sec ensures he reaches the 100m medley final as second fastest. Is a golden double on the cards?
17.05: French 1-2 in the women's 400m freestyle final - Coralie Balmy takes gold followed by Camille Muffat.
16.59: James Gibson - a bronze medallist in yesterday's 100m breaststroke - finishes tenth fastest in the 50m breaststroke heats and will miss tomorrow's final.
16.51: Lizzie Simmonds is having a busy week. She qualifies for the 50m backstroke final later today as the third quickest qualifier in a time of 27.17 seconds. Home favourite Sanja Jovanovic is quickest but Britain's Georgia Davies misses out - her time of 27.57 sec is 12th quickest.
