YOG 2010: Windsurfer Martin stays in medal contention at Youth Olympics
From Sportsbeat staff, Singapore
BRITISH windsurfer Kieran Martin remains firmly in the medal mix at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.

ON COURSE: Kieran Martin was first and tenth in today's races to move to provisional third at the Youth Olympic Games regatta (Singapore Press Holdings)
Martin, 15, is ranked third overall after a first and tenth place, not far behind fleet frontrunners, Israel's Mayan Rafic and Hong Kong's Chun Leung Michael Cheng.
"I was pleased with how the day went, although the second race wasn't that good and I had a really bad start and that messed it up a little bit," he said.
"But overall I'm pleased with where I am because, in windsurfing, consistency is key and I am racing consistently at the minute.
"I'm getting used to the conditions more and more each day and hopefully I can keep performing as I am right the way until the end."
However, there was disappointment for Jade Rogers who slipped out of the top ten, following a tenth place and a disqualification.
But the 15-year old remains confident she can still challenge with plenty of races to come.
Thailand's Siripon Kaewduang leads the fleet, with home medal hope, Singapore's Audrey Pei Lin Yong, just one point behind.
"It wasn't a great day for me but I'm confident I can come back. It's not ideal because I've already had one bad race and with the disqualification, I know I can't afford any slip-ups," she said.
"I'm not looking at the overall rankings yet though. I never like to look at them till right near the end because I don't want to let it affect me.
"I'll probably have a look when it gets to near the end of the competition but I won't look now.
"All I can concentrate on now is getting some more good finishes."
